Things you might want to know . . .
Q. What is coaching?
A. More and more people worldwide are being coached. The coach
and client have powerful conversations entirely about the client’s
goals, aspirations and challenges. It’s a professional and
dynamic relationship based on trust, openness and confidentiality.
Q. Who can benefit?
A. In a word, anyone.
- Anyone who wants focussed support to clarify their future and
how to get started
- Anyone who is feeling stuck, frustrated or dissatisfied
- Anyone who wants company on their particular challenge
- Anyone who has read all the books and now wants to do it
- Anyone who is big enough to be accountable for their commitments
to others; and most important, for their commitments to themselves.
Q. What
will one-on-one coaching give you?
A. I guarantee you:
- Time and space to talk and reflect
- Help to get very clear on the future you want
- Encouragement to tackle things that have been getting in your
way
- Lots of exercises, tips and models to help make the whole thing
fun
- Shared accountability, with you, for actions you commit to
- Ongoing support to keep you on track.
Q. What are the likely
outcomes of working with a coach?
A. Sure, everyone is different. But here’s a start:
- Quick runs on the board, whatever your game
- A clear view of what is really going on in your life
- Less time wasted on your old bad habits
- A way of thinking and being that allows you to deal with future
challenges proactively
- More time spent doing what YOU want (sure, it’s selfish
and I recommend it!)
- Less time spent moaning about things which annoy you
- Permission to be big in your own life
- The joy of taking more responsibility for YOU.
Q. How will we create that?
A. We will
- Build a professional relationship based on trust, confidentiality,
and real acknowledgement of YOU.
- Meet regularly either face to face or by telephone.
- Get very clear on what you want to focus on. No worries if you
are unsure about this at the moment, I will help you achieve that
clarity.
- Talk lots, mostly you. I will listen and ask questions to help
you think about things a bit differently.
- Discuss actions to get you closer to where you want to be. You’ll
then have my support to act on them.
- Work out how fast you want to go. Chances are we’ll focus
on some of the little things first - sometimes they get in the
way of the bigger stuff
- Probably work to upgrade the software in your head! That way
you can chuck out all the stuff past its use-by date. More painless
than it sounds, and it makes for smarter talking and doing.
- Very likely have some fun!
Q. How long will it take?
A. To which I can only answer, how big is the challenge?
Everyone learns loads in the first couple of months. For some, that
is enough - they are ready to fly alone. For others, two months
just shows what is really possible and we work together for longer.
Each person is different.
What I do know for sure is that you will be delighted at the insights
you will have within the first month. Your awareness will increase.
You will see the world, and your part in it, through clearer lenses.
You will be encouraged to go out and put your new skills into practice.
Take it a month at a time. I will not ask you to sign up for several
months in advance. You can decide how long you want to continue
working with me when you are ready.
One thing. Please give me a month's notice when you plan to finish.
That way we will have some time for you to develop strategies to
retain your skills and focus, in effect becoming your own coach.
Q. What will it cost?
A. For one-on-one coaching,
between $650 and $950 (excl gst), per month. It depends on your
particular needs, the frequency of our appointments, and whether
we meet face to face or by phone.

Q. Is there a money-back
guarantee?
A. Yes indeed. If you are not happy at the end of the first month,
I will refund your payment in full.
Q. What do you need to
know about my coaching style ?
A. I have 3 GOLDEN RULES for everyone I coach. They’re things
I ask you NOT to bring to our sessions - they simply get in the
way.
- No self beat-ups. You will likely have done more than enough
of this already, so lighten your load, and dump it.
- No struggles. It is possible to live without struggles. Stretching
~ YES, struggles ~ NO.
- No failures. I will encourage you to see "failures"
as chances to learn. We will take a new look at stuff and find
out what it tells you. A different perspective changes everything.
